Your Voice is Powerful. Use It!

For this article by Jo Ilfeld, Executive Leadership Coach on voice messages the image shows a woman using a megaphone.

Do you use voice messages? These days it is SO hard to find time to connect with people. Schedules never align. People are always in meetings.

Yes, Slack and other messaging apps are convenient but there’s nothing like the power of your own voice to convey nuance and true meaning. And with platforms like WhatsApp, leaving voice messages is easier than ever. A well-articulated voice message can eliminate the misinterpretation that sometimes plagues text-based communication. Obviously, a phone call (remember those?) is top of the hierarchy in terms of effective communication, but we all know how hard it is to get someone on the phone these days.

A voice message is the next best thing.

So this week, instead of a long email or a text, send a BRIEF voice message when you need to clarify something or convey a meaning that may be more complex than you can convey in a text message.

Let me know in the comments below to share how it goes. Your voice matters – make it heard.
