How Can You Improve Your Emotional Intelligence (EQ)?

Jo Ilfeld |Executive Leadership Coach|How can you improve your emotional intelligence (EQ)?

Start by asking yourself what YOU need.

Instead of rolling over and checking in with your phone when you wake up in the morning, take a breath and check in with yourself.

Ask yourself, “What do I need today?“

Maybe you need to go out for a run or get a workout in because you have a lot of nervous or anxious energy.

Maybe you need to dig into a project that you’ve been really concerned and worried about.

Perhaps you need to connect with a friend or partner or with your kids.

A big part of emotional intelligence means self-management. You can’t manage your own moods and regulate your own emotions unless you’re really listening deeply to what it is you need to be regulated.

Watch the video for more on developing your EQ.
