How can you develop better strategic thinking skills? Write it down!

I’m sure you have those times when you know you need to think more deeply about something, you know it needs more strategy and work.

If you’re like me, you probably tell yourself, “I’ll think about it when I’m in the car picking up the kids from school.” Or on your next hike, or next trip to the grocery store, or wherever you do your best thinking. But these days, I have been writing it down and it’s taking my strategic thinking to a very different place. Instead of thinking of one idea and then letting it go, by writing it down, it gives me a chance to really think things through and build on one idea on top of another until I reach a conclusion.
