Covid Makes It Take Longer

Jo Ilfeld | Relationships|Executive Leadership Coach |Are you tripping yourself up?

Are you that person who gets frustrated by someone so long to do a task that you know will only take five minutes?

And are you also that person who’s been putting in longer hours because of all the extra work created by Covid? Then you’re like me and this video is for you.

When asked for mid-course feedback from my Executive MBA students, one of the pieces of feedback I received was that I was not as timely as I usually am in grading their papers. This is absolutely true.

I completely sympathize with the students who feel that all their hard work should be reciprocated on my part with timely grading on my part. I have felt the same frustration as them. Yet, I also know how hard I’ve worked this past year turning the in-person course into a virtual experience that was a cohesive experience allowing for interaction and reflective thinking. It was not an easy task to turn the curriculum into a virtual one.

This made me reflect on all the additional work everyone is doing during Covid to transition things behind the scenes so that everyone will have as smooth an experience as possible, whether its teachers and college professors or in the workplace.

I encourage all of us, myself included, to have more empathy for how Covid is making things take longer. Watch the video for more.
