Why Is My Body Not Working Like I Want?
One of my closest friends, Dr. Sara Gottfried, just wrote her second book, “The Hormone Reset Diet.” I’m not recommending it because you need to lose weight. Because you don’t! You look fabulous just as you are right now! But there are two exceptional things about this book:
1) The author (yes my friend) is amazing, bright, and cutting-edge in terms of hormone balancing for women (and some men.)
2) While I helped with some early feedback (note bias here), what I love about this book is not the diet part but how much I learned about how different foods can affect the balance in my system. There’s also a lot of non-food advice about things you can do to balance the systems in your body – all advice I endorse like yoga, meditation, and certain breathing practices.
We are in a new world where people are constantly realizing how interconnected our internal systems are and traditional medicine, or exercise, or certain foods alone aren’t the full answer.
It turns out that healing our bodies is a lot like healing our lives, there are many different approaches, but it’s nice to take a step forward and start somewhere. If figuring out your body for the better is on your list – I highly recommend this book.
